Playa Nueva Romana promotes sports with a pickleball day for young athletes

Sports, learning, and values came together in a special event held at the courts of Playa Nueva Romana, where pickleball took center stage.

A day of learning and fun

Organized by the Dominican Pickleball Federation and EXE Foundation, the event brought together students from Colegio Quisqueya for an experience designed to introduce them to this fast-growing and dynamic sport.

Throughout the day, participants:

  • Learned the fundamentals of pickleball
  • Took part in interactive activities
  • Enjoyed friendly matches

In addition, they received sports kits to encourage continued practice and promote healthy habits.

Driving the growth of pickleball in the Dominican Republic

The event was attended by Elvys Duarte, President of the Dominican Pickleball Federation; Luis Veras, Secretary General; and Jenny Cárdenas, representative of EXE Foundation, with the support of the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), led by its Executive Director, Alberto Rodríguez.

Representing Playa Nueva Romana were Rossy Santana, Deputy Marketing Director; Paola Gutiérrez, Project Manager; and Doritza Contreras, Events Coordinator.

Inspiring the next generation

“Our mission is to inspire more young people to discover pickleball and support their development within the sport,” said Jenny Cárdenas.

Elvys Duarte also highlighted the rapid growth of pickleball in the Dominican Republic and its international projection, including participation in global events such as the Pickleball World Classic.

An active lifestyle in community

With initiatives like this, Playa Nueva Romana reaffirms its commitment to promoting sports, well-being, and youth development, strengthening its “Lifestyle” vision where recreation, quality of life, and sports experiences are essential pillars of its residential and tourism community.
